Yesterday was my birthday. I received lots of cards, flowers, gifts, emails, and calls--which was wonderful. But Spencer was kind of left out this year. No one remembered to have him get a gift for Mommy's birthday so--all on his own, he found an empty pencil box to use as a "gift box" and then he found two memo pads (he knows I am constantly writing notes and I like Pandas and Gorillas) he drew me a sweet picture on the first page of the memo pads. Then he somehow found a blank card (where??) and made me a card and put a "lucky penny" in there. He did all of this on his own while I was on a conference call. I am so impressed that he was mature enough to realize that he wanted to celebrate my birthday with me and then he put so much thought into creating a surprise for me. I don't think I have ever been more impressed.

Hey! hope your day was good. Sounds like Spencer made your day. That was so sweet. He is a lil sweetheart. I know you are very proud. Sometimes our kids know just when we need that kind of love. They are a blessing. Take care and hang in there. Still thinking of yall. Love yall
