Movie Reviewers evidently don't buy toys

We saw Star Wars: The Clone Wars tonight. I was a little leery about seeing it after I saw the horrible reviews. But- you know what? The reviews are written by adults. Lucas is a capitalistic genius. He took the characters that most kids already know-- animated them, packed the movie with exploding robots (but no actual human violence) and had both male and female hero characters-- you can hear the merchandise just flying off the shelf now. Oh and as I update my blog, my kid is sitting in there building Clone Wars Legos, wearing a Clone Wars T-shirt while Clone Wars action figures stand guard around the Lego pile....see? Marketing genius.
The plot of the movie was rather simple as well. Anakin Skywalker and Ahsoka Tano, his Padawan (apprentice), attempt to help the Republic form an alliance by retrieving Jabba the Hutt’s baby son from Count Dooku. Of course there is the expected guidance from Obi-Wan Kenobi and Master Yoda while leading the massive clone army into exaggerated battles, force fields, epic weapons and everything else Spencer will stand in the toy section of Target and beg for....

He is a marketing genius, I will give you that. I didn't like the last 3 as much as the original star wars.

Go Spencer!!! I have seen the first two Star Wars Movies but I always think the original is the best :) I think it's cool that they've made a "kids" version IYKWIM.

Definately a marketing genius there :)
