My mobile meals route is in a very old neighborhood. I realized just how old it is today-- I found a pull tab in the driveway of one of our deliveries! I took it home to show Spencer since it is now an ancient artifact. I think they stopped making them when I was a baby so those things are REALLY old! I explained to him what it was and pantomimed how it would have worked on an empty can from our recycling bin and Spencer said, "Cool! Old cans came with little knives!"

Seriously. You take the tab part and put it through the ring of the next flip top and bend it over. The next best thing to a dandelion necklace.

I'm with you Patti - nothing like making a person feel OLD!! thanks very much Cass!!! I grew up with these pull tabs on my cans of drink - we used to make necklaces from the tabs all joined together -ah the memories LOL
Thanks for the memory! We used to make pull-tab garland as we drank soda and my dad drank beer while camping.
How great you support this cause. Such a great thing....and I'm so sorry about all the bad things. Hoping you have heard how she is doing.
